ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Conference is organized by Nursing One and sponsored by Franklin University
Violence against nurses has significantly increased in the past decade. This conference will provide you with information about types of violence you might face, ways to handle them, hands on self-defense moves, and self-care techniques to help you in your everyday life. Armed with information, you will be better prepared to handle violent situations and protect yourself.

Registration is limited to 125 participants, so register early!
Plan to attend and learn from expert professionals. You will have an opportunity to learn from a health attorney about the legal issues surrounding violence against nurses, and receive information about what you can do to protect yourself in the event you are assaulted. What can you do and cannot do when attacked by a patient?
You will learn how to de-escalate an aggressor and ways to protect yourself during your work day. As part of the conference, you will get to practice self-defense techniques and learn from an expert how to care for yourself every day to promote your own emotional, mental and physical well-being.
You will hear first-hand stories from a panel of nurses who have experienced assault and lessons learned from those experiences.
